Class

What is an Intergenerational Self-Defense Class ?

Malikah is an anti-violence training and mutual aid base-building organization that builds power and safety for communities through self-defense, financial literacy, organizing, and healing programs.

The class is going to be focused on how people from children, teens, adults and elders can defend themselves. A particular focus for this class will be how caregivers can help children and teens feel empowered.

How does the virtual class differ from the in person (NYC) ?

The in person class will teach people of all ages that show up to the space and is specific for caregivers and children learning together.

The virtual space will focus on general strategies that any one can use but again with a specific addition to help caregivers.

We are hosting a in person Family Self Defense Course in NYC in partnership with Malikah, Inc in in person on Sunday April 23, 2026 at 3:30 to 4:30pm EST. Location shared after registration, this is a FREE event supported by the generous granters.

We are hosting a virtual Caregiver Self Defense Course over secure platform at 7pm EST on Thursday April 23rd. It is expected that older kids would get something out of it but it is more geared towards things that Caregivers could teach younger kids and use themselves.
